Queen Elizabeth National Park is in the Western Region of Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park is located about 400 kilometers by road southwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.
The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England. It is home to over 600 different bird species and over 95 different animal species. It makes sense that Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most well-liked tourism site in Uganda.
